The person who made everything happen at the 40th Reunion of the Mira Costa High School Class of 1960 was Karen Richards Rambeau, shown here with her husband, Mike (Roger) Rambeau ('59). The Reunion Committee gave her the roses during the Reunion's main event on Sept. 16, 2000 to thank her in a small way for an enormous job well done!

These 18 members of the Mira Costa Class of 1960 traveled from out of state to attend the 40th Reunion. They were given framed photographs as souvenirs. They are (from left) Barbara Rycroft Colee, Sandra Brennan Baggaley, Barbara Lockley Shrake, Ted Laun, Sandy Anderson Sarver, Bill Crabtree, Gretchen Andersen Marchmann, Bill Glod, Patty Conway Koch, Bob Leinau, Nancy Vening Cypert, Christie Smith Goodwin (partially hidden), Jim Mather, Bob Campbell, Rich Redfield, Kathy Taylor Graham, Rex Stillwell and Marcia Whited Stillwell.

The Saturday night main event featured dinner, live music and socializing that lasted almost until daybreak Sunday!

Sunday's picnic attracted about 50 people to the gazebo at Pollywog Park in Manhattan Beach. How come everyone looks so AWAKE before noon the day after the main event??? On Friday night a few 1956 graduates of Center Intermediate School in Manhattan Beach got together for a group photo. Old school ties last forever. This crowd attended Valley Vista Elementary School in Hermosa Beach about, um, 50 years before this photo was taken on Sept. 15, 2000.
